Pharmacokinetics of Understudied Drugs Administered to Children per Standard of Care "POPS"
For many medications that are prescribed to children information on the best dose, safety, and effectiveness is not known.
- Children are not just “small adults” — their bodies work differently.

- Doctors have to make their best guess about how much medicine to safely give children.
​​
- As a result, these medicines may not work as well as they could.
This study will help us learn more about how certain medicines work in children and determine the best way to use them.
- Your doctor will determine if your child is able to participate in this study.
​
- If you would like to participate, we will draw extra blood the next time your child has lab work done to determine how much medicine is present in their body.
​
- Depending on which medicine your child is taking, we may collect additional information from their records or hospital chart.
